Weddings, Weddings, Weddings!!!

So the past couple of years have been a huge learning experience for me.  I have discovered that I love to shoot weddings!  While I would have to say children are my favorite, (who can compare with the unadulturated joy and happiness of a child) weddings are probably my second favorite!  The bride is so beautiful, at her best, the grooms all look so handsome, everyone is in a cheerful, happy mood.  What is there not to love?!  I have never met the feared "bridezilla" and don't expect I shall, since I believe it is all a figment of a photographer's imagination who didn't love what they do ; )  And until it is proved to me otherwise, it shall be an old wives tale....  Next year is going to be a busy year for me (if the emails are any indication,) so be sure to book early, as it is a first come first serve type of set up.  So thank you for your trust, and I look forward to shooting you in the future....

Outstanding Young Person Pictures

So I determined a while back that I would watch for individuals who stood out in character, life, and kindness.  Kirstie is the winner!  She won a free shoot.  Here are some pictures from her shoot.

Dayton and Photography

I went out last Friday night to the Dayton light up.  It was awesome seeing so many varieties of photographers out en masse!  Everywhere we looked there were people taking pictures.  What a fun group to be associated with.  Here are a couple of shots I got from going downtown.

Caleb

I was honored to shoot a young man from Northmont High School last week.  He was fabulous!  It's hard to find guys who will pose for you., but he was a complete natural.  Thanks Caleb!  Click on the picture to see it enlarged.

Sara and Jake

I used to get really nervous shooting weddings.  Trying to adjust to each couple, the lighting, the scenery, the weather, the music, and every situation was a difficult task for me.  This wedding was totally different.  Sara was so gracious and sweet, not to mention stunningly beautiful.  Sara and Jake were sweet.  So despite 100+ degrees, it was a beautiful wedding.

Entering Pictures

So I like to get word out of my photography prowess (yes I am kidding), and the way I like to do that is to enter work in contests.  This time I am entering a photo into ROCK THE SHOT.  This is a couple that I shot a few weeks ago.  I knew I wanted the water, and I knew I wanted the sunset.  Fortunately we got our pictures before we found out we weren't supposed to be in the water!  Oops!  You can see my entry and the others at http://rocktheshotforum.com. 

Teaching an old dog new tricks
